Do you only deliver ceremonies in Hampshire?
A definitive no! Surrounding counties of West Sussex, Wiltshire, Dorset and Surrey are all within normal working range for me. Anything beyond those will incur travel costs. I am able to travel anywhere you need me to so long as travel (and potentially accommodation) costs are covered in addition to the package.
Do you offer rituals and symbolic elements?
Absolutely! We can discuss popular options or even choose to create one to reflect your relationship.
Do you only do weddings?
Not at all. I also do vow renewals, family blending ceremonies, elopements - pretty much anything you can think of. If you can imagine it, I can create it. I will also be adding naming ceremonies in the future.
Can I have a wedding ceremony in my garden/in a forest/field/beach?
So long as you have permission from the owner of said field/forest/beach/garden, you can have your ceremony wherever you please! The more imaginative the better - I draw the line at snorkelling though (not a strong enough swimmer)!
Is the ceremony a legal wedding?
Currently, celebrant-led ceremonies aren’t legally recognised in England or Wales (though they have been in Scotland and Northern Ireland for years). But don’t let that dampen your plans—change *is* on the way. In July 2022 the Law Commission published its long-awaited report into wedding law reform in England and Wales which includes efforts to bring legal recognition to celebrant-led weddings.
In the meantime, the paperwork can be handled easily with a quick 2x2 registry ceremony at the register office, which costs a little under £60. You can do this on the same day as your ceremony, or at any time before or after—whatever feels right! Just like registering a birth or a death, most couples see this as simply the formal registering of their marriage or civil partnership, while their celebrant-led ceremony is the true celebration.
I cannot see a 2x2 wedding offered by my local registry office?
You may need to email your local office and ask for this as it has become a recent custom to not advertise this option.
